South-central Pa. businesses continue recovering after Saturday’s severe storms

  • Severe thunderstorms caused Reeser’s Soft Ice Cream in York County to lose power for over 8 hours, resulting in $3,500 worth of food being thrown out.

At an empty parking lot off of Old Rossville Road in Lewisberry, employees are bringing in fresh food to help reopen Reeser’s Soft Ice Cream.

“It was like a needle going across a record,” said Donald Reeser, the owner of Reeser’s Soft Ice Cream.

The popular York County ice cream shop has been closed since late Saturday night after severe thunderstorms swept through the area. Reeser said the business lost power for more than 8 hours, causing them to throw out ice cream and other food from their freezers…
