Bayou Cane crews respond to three fires over July 4 weekend

TERREBONNE PARISH, La. (WGNO) — Bayou Cane firefighters responded to three fires over the July 4 weekend.

According to the Bayou Cane Fire Protection District, the first two fires occurred around the same time during the early morning hours of July 4. At 12:14 a.m., crews were sent to the 500 block of Harding Drive to a reported structure fire. They found the fire had been extinguished by the homeowner before they arrived.

At 12:18 a.m., crews were sent to a second structure fire in the 4600 block of West Main Street. Firefighters found a large shed fully involved with smoke and fire. Crews removed smoke from the home, checked for extension and cooled remaining hotspots. The homeowner had burns to one hand and was treated on scene.

On Sunday, July 5 at 7:42 a.m. crews responded to another structure fire in the 100 block of Casa Drive. They found smoke coming from the roof area and brought it under control. No injuries were reported…
