SAN ANTONIO — Drivers traveling along Interstate 35 on the Northeast Side should expect overnight closures this week as part of the Texas Department of Transportation’s I-35 Northeast Expansion Project.
The closures are scheduled nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Thursday and 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. Friday, July 6-10, weather permitting.
The following closures will be in effect:
- Southbound I-35 frontage road north and south of Walzem Road
- Northbound-to-southbound U-turn at Walzem Road
- Southbound I-35 frontage road from Rittiman Road to Petroleum Drive
- Southbound I-35 Exit 162
- Northbound I-35 connector to the southbound I-410 South frontage road
- Northbound I-35 frontage road at the I-35 and I-410 interchange
TxDOT said drivers traveling on the southbound I-35 frontage road near Walzem Road will be detoured onto the southbound mainlanes before returning to the frontage road at the Eisenhauer Road exit…
