Dozens of families in Nashville’s childcare deserts could soon get a daycare spot

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A nonprofit daycare organization is opening facilities that will offer more than 200 childcare spots combined in Nashville neighborhoods that residents and advocates describe as childcare deserts.

Equally Created is renovating a former dollar store on Clifton Avenue in North Nashville and plans to open a second location at Modera Nations on 54th Avenue North — which would be the first daycare facility in Nashville to operate out of an apartment complex.

The two new Equally Created locations will serve children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old, adding more than 200 spots combined. The Clifton Avenue location is anticipating a December opening. The Modera Nations location is expected to open approximately one to two months after that…
