(KRON) — A hiker killed by an alligator in Florida last month has been identified as a California woman. Brittany Clark, 31, was out hiking with her best friend and boyfriend in the Little Big Econ State Forest on June 28 when they stopped for a swim in the Econlockhatchee River.
Clark was swimming in about 3 feet of water when the alligator attacked, biting both of her arms. Clark was helped to shore by her friend and boyfriend, who called 911.

“The boyfriend was the one who made the phone call,” Chad Weber with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said. “He was trying to get her from the alligator’s mouth.”
A fundraiser set up by one of Clark’s family members called her “an amazing person and a fun-loving soul.” The fundraiser is seeking to raise money to return Clark’s remains to California “to be with her parents.”…
