SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – Sarasota County commissioners will hold a public hearing Wednesday to decide whether to approve the next phase of a waterfront redevelopment project in downtown Englewood that has divided the community for months.
The proposal would expand Buchan’s Bayside, a mixed-use development that includes a waterfront restaurant, luxury villas and new boat slips. If approved, the project would grow from 2.8 acres to nearly 3.8 acres, increasing the number of residential villas from 12 to 20 while retaining a previously approved 10,000-square-foot waterfront restaurant.
