BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – A Baton Rouge woman spent more than three years fighting to clear her name after a Baton Rouge Police Department officer entered the wrong license plate number on a crash report, leaving her responsible for a wreck she said she knew nothing about.
Laisha Webb said she discovered the problem in 2023 when she went to renew her driver’s license and was told it was suspended due to a crash in January 2021.
“While I was trying to renew my license, the Department of Motor Vehicles said I had an accident on my report,” Webb said. “And I was a little bothered by that because I wasn’t sure on how would I have an accident when I wasn’t in any accidents.”…
