Thousands of residents across northwest Louisiana remain in the dark today after a violent storm roared across the region on Monday evening.
What Is Swepco Doing to Restore Power
Swepco issued the following statement:
“Our crews are responding to extensive storm damage across the Shreveport-Bossier area following a powerful line of severe thunderstorms that moved through the region. The storm brought damaging winds and widespread service interruptions, leaving approximately 35,000 customers without power.”
The Swepco statement adds: “We understand how challenging it is to be without electricity. Please know that line workers, damage assessors and support teams are working to assess damage, clear hazards and restore service as quickly and safely as possible. Safety remains our top priority for both our crews and the communities we serve.”
