WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A Winston-Salem couple says a bullet fired during July Fourth celebrations struck their new home, coming close to where the husband regularly sits at his desk.
Madeline Davis said she and her husband spent the evening at the Winston-Salem Dash game before heading to a neighbor’s house to watch fireworks for the holiday.
“We’re watching the fireworks, we’re watching the kids and then I hear ‘pop pop pop pop pop,'” Davis said. “I’m kind of like, ‘oh, fireworks.’ No — the kids are running, ducking and running, mom is screaming, ‘get inside, get on the porch.'”…
