Arkansas groundwater report shows mixed results, growing infrastructure investment

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The latest Arkansas groundwater report offers generally good news for the state, tempered by some areas of concern.

The 2025 Arkansas Groundwater Protection and Management Report summarizes groundwater monitoring, current water levels, conservation programs and water use. The report is produced by the Arkansas Department of Agriculture.

The Arkansas Department of Agriculture, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service and the U.S. Geological Survey monitor water levels and selected water quality indicators in as many as 1,000 wells across the state each year, officials said.
