BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – High-ranking officials at the Baton Rouge Police Department are scheduled to meet Wednesday, July 8, to discuss the search for Ja’Derrius Minnieweather, the 15-year-old whose body investigators believe is inside the Baton Rouge North Landfill.
The search is set to begin Monday, July 13. Investigators said the effort will require extensive planning given the size of the landfill and the dangerous conditions there.

Mayor Edwards previously said the city was targeting around July 13 to begin the recovery effort following a planning period. The FBI is partnering with the Baton Rouge Police Department in the recovery effort.
Officials said they have narrowed down a location within the landfill, though it remains a large area to cover. Fire and other officials will be required to search the site, and heat is expected to present a significant challenge for crews working in protective gear…
