St. Landry residents can apply for FEMA storm recovery aid

Homeowners and renters in St. Landry Parish who suffered damage from Tropical Storm Arthur can now apply for federal disaster assistance after the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) approved Individual Assistance for the parish.

The disaster declaration covers damage caused by the storm that swept through Louisiana on June 17-18, bringing heavy rainfall and flooding to several communities.

St. Landry is one of four Louisiana parishes currently approved for FEMA Individual Assistance, along with Avoyelles, St. Tammany and Terrebonne. Additional parishes could be added as state officials complete damage assessments…
