Doctor who drove family off seaside cliff has charges dropped

SAN MATEO COUNTY, Calif. (KRON) – A California doctor who intentionally drove his wife and two young children off a 300-foot oceanside cliff had his attempted murder charges dismissed Monday, according to prosecutors.

In the weeks leading up to the 2023 incident, when Dharmesh Patel drove a Tesla off Highway 1, he was experiencing paranoia and delusions, prosecutors said.
