AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – Unsealed federal court documents said four people were indicted on weapons charges in Amarillo on June 25, after they allegedly worked to provide guns to the Sinaloa Cartel.
As noted by the documents, the Sinaloa Cartel is classified as a terrorist organization by the United States.
Loyd Walter Hall, Jesus Quezada Meza, Omar Velasquez, and Catlynn Ann Townsend were all named in the indictment.
Documents said Hall is facing 12-counts total, including:
- Conspiring to Provide Material Support to a Foreign Terrorist Organization
- Conspiracy to Distribute a Controlled Substance for Importation into the United States
- Using, Carrying, and Possessing a Firearm, Including a Semiautomatic Assault Weapon During, in Relations to, and in Furtherance of a Drug Trafficking Crime
- Three counts of Conspiracy to Straw Purchase Firearms
- Three counts of Conspiracy to Traffic Firearms
- Three counts of False Material Statement to a Firearms Dealer
Meza and Velazquez were indicted on two counts each, including:
- Conspiracy to Straw Purchase Firearms
- Conspiracy to Traffic Firearms
Meanwhile, Townsend was indicted on one count of “False Statement in Required Information Kept by a Firearms Dealer”…
