In a classroom at Southern Lab in 1997, Jacob Davis and Krystal Flowers first met in the sixth grade.
Their friendship was forged in honors classes and playing sports. Years later, they’re back in the very halls where their friendship began, this time coaching at their alma mater.
Both won state titles in their first seasons as head coaches with the Kittens, with Flowers winning a girls basketball state title, and Davis coaching state titles for the girls and boys track and field teams.
Early years
Southern Lab competes at the 1A level with around 200 students in high school. Smaller classrooms offered plenty of opportunities to form deeper connections…
