ST. PAUL, Minn. (Northern News Now) – The West St. Paul Police Department builds a giant slip and slide once a year as a way for kids to beat the heat.
The setup consists of a large tarp with sprinklers overhead. Officers use dish soap to reduce friction on the slide.
Children at the event said the soap helped them move faster. “I put soap all over my body, and I went even faster,” one participant said.
Some kids noted awareness of the soap. “We know there’s soap, and we don’t want to get our eyes soapy,” one child said. “I don’t want to get soap in my eyes, otherwise it will burn.”…
