VANCOUVER, Wash. — Residents have been asked to evacuate and avoid the area amid a gas leak Thursday afternoon in Vancouver.
Around 2:22 p.m., the Clark Regional Emergency Services Agency issued an alert, asking those near the 9419 Northeast 72nd Street area to evacuate on foot and head north, as well as to not start or drive any vehicles. Power was also shut off in the area as a precaution.
A natural gas line had been hit by heavy machinery, leading to the evacuation, which spans 1/4 of a mile in each direction from the area of 72nd Street and 94th Avenue. The closure will likely last three hours, the agency said…
