Fort Wayne woman arrested after hitting DeKalb Co. Sheriff’ Sergeant’s vehicle

DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) — A woman has been arrested after striking a DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department vehicle on I-69.

In the early hours of Wednesday morning, 35-year-old Keondra Brooks from Fort Wayne was heading north on I-69 when, near the 323-mile-marker, she struck the back side of a DeKalb County Sheriff’s Sergeant’s marked vehicle. The marked Dodge Durango, which also contained the Sergeant’s K9, was parked in the authorized-personnel median.

Indiana State Police (ISP) troopers, along with medics, were called to the scene. While the Sergeant and his K9 partner were not hurt, Brooks did sustain injuries and was taken to the hospital.
