New Arkansas State Highway Commission plan includes more passing lanes on Highway 62/412

The Arkansas State Highway Commission has released the Draft Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) for Federal Fiscal Years 2027-2030. The plan includes improvements for several area highways including multiple passing lanes in north central Arkansas for U.S. Highway 62/412. All of the passing lanes are all scheduled to be completed in federal fiscal year (FFY) 2029. All of the work on Highway 62/412 is being paid for by the state.

In Marion County, passing lanes are scheduled to be constructed from Snow to Georges Creek, a stretch of 2.37 miles. The estimated cost is $18 million.

Another set of passing lanes are scheduled to be built in Marion and Boone counties from Snow to Harmon, a length of 6.64 miles. That estimated cost is $30 million…
