ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A sheriff’s deputy is on trial facing decades in prison. That case is playing out in front of an Albuquerque jury, as prosecutors accuse the deputy of tipping off a drug dealer.

Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office deputy Paul Jessen has been on trial all week at the federal courthouse in downtown Albuquerque; he faces up to 70 years in prison. Prosecutors argued he purposefully warned a drug trafficking target the DEA was watching.
The allegations date back to 2021 when Jessen and fellow BCSO deputy Kyle Linker were warned by the Drug Enforcement Agency about an impending raid near a drug dealer’s North Valley home…
