TABOR CITY, NC (WWAY)– A man wanted on multiple felony charges was taken into custody after an alleged attempted getaway led detectives to recover suspected narcotics and stolen property, according to the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office.
On July 9, 2026, detectives with the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division located Brian Keith Misenheimer in Tabor City and attempted to serve an outstanding felony warrant.
Authorities said Misenheimer allegedly attempted to flee in a vehicle as detectives approached. During the attempted escape, the vehicle reportedly drove over a curb and came to rest near a detective.
