Alcoa business growth along Tesla Boulevard draws more restaurants, retailers to former industrial site

ALCOA, Tenn. (WVLT) – Businesses continue to open along Tesla Boulevard in Alcoa, and city officials say the development is the result of decades of planning on land that once housed an industrial plant.

Alcoa City Manager Bruce Applegate said the city purchased the former Alcoa West Plant site and has worked over the years to attract businesses there by offering infrastructure already in place.

“Really the biggest drivers that are making this area more attractive outside of the infrastructure in place to let somebody start a project right away instead of having to do a lot of work to get that site up and going,” Applegate said…
