HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — The Horry County Police Department is utilizing a new team within the department to help capture violent offenders throughout the county.
The Violent Criminal Apprehension Team began nearly two years ago after Police Chief Kris Leonhardt was sworn in back in 2024.
“I went to county council with this idea,” Leonhardt said. “They were extremely supportive. We’re very thankful for that, to be able to look for those violent offenders that may be wanting to cause harm or do crime in our community.”…
