Dangerous heat, humidity and thunderstorm chances persist across Southern California

Southern Californians will get little relief from the heat heading into the weekend as dangerous temperatures, increasing humidity and the chance of thunderstorms continue to shape the forecast through next week.

KTLA’s Kirk Hawkins said Friday that heat advisories remain in effect for parts of the region, with some inland communities expected to see highs in the upper 90s and low 100s through Tuesday morning.

An Extreme Heat Watch is also set to take effect Tuesday through Thursday for portions of Southern California, where temperatures could climb as high as 112 to 117 degrees, while Extreme Heat Warnings remain in effect Friday for the Coachella Valley and Inland Empire…
