Officers in New York City, New York, managed to climb on top of the Brooklyn Bridge while responding to an individual in crisis. A woman was threatening to jump, but after an hour-long rescue, they managed to pull her back to safety.

New York City Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch shared footage recorded by members of the New York City Police Department (NYPD). Given the nature of the clip, it soon became viral on X, garnering more than 500,000 views in a day.

The incident occurred on July 8, 2026. At around 7.38 p.m., the NYPD’s Emergency Service Unit (ESU) received multiple 911 calls from worried citizens who had seen an individual on top of the Brooklyn Bridge. ESU officers soon scaled the bridge and walked toward the individual in distress, a woman who was sitting on the bridge’s structure, ready to jump at any given moment.

One officer in particular began talking to the lady, attempting to convince her not to jump. He introduced himself as Chris, asked the woman to tell him what was going on, and told her that he wanted to help her…
