CASTLE ROCK, Colo. (KDVR) – After a bear was shot and killed in a Douglas County neighborhood, some residents say they feel like they’re seeing more in the area than usual.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) says they aren’t alone in that feeling; this may end up being a record year for them for bear reports.
Castle Rock’s Terrain neighborhood is where that bear was shot. Some residents say bears are a common sight, but some newer residents to the area say they’ve never seen one. Either way, CPW urges people to be bear aware this summer.
