CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — A Lowcountry nonprofit that provides free menstrual products to schools, shelters and clinics canceled its first-ever fundraising gala after ticket sales fell short, organizers said.
Lowcountry Period Pixies, a volunteer-run group, had planned a semi-formal event featuring music, food and speakers, including a public-school nurse and a delivery volunteer.
The organization issued refunds to those who had purchased tickets.
