CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – Cedar Rapids Police said they’re investigating after a shooting left one person dead Saturday. Police were called to the 600 block of 2nd Avenue SW around 5:40 Saturday evening for reports of a shooting. Officers arrived on scene to find an 18-year-old male with a gunshot wound injury. Officials said the victim has since been declared dead. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of family. Police said the incident appears to be targeted; however, police did not say if anyone has been arrested in connection with the shooting. Additionally, police did not name any suspects. The incident is under investigation.
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – One person is hurt after a Saturday evening shooting on Cedar Rapids’ southwest side — the second shooting to happen over the weekend. Police say this happened around the intersection of 10 St. and 10th Ave. SW at about 8:45 Saturday night. The victim, who hasn’t been identified, suffered non-life threatening injuries. The investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been announced.
LINN COUNTY, Iowa (KCRG) – One person has possible life-threatening injuries after a crash in Linn County Saturday. Linn County Sheriff Deputies were called to 2155 Covington Road south of Palo around 7:00 Saturday night for reports of an accident. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a 2000 Honda 400EX ATV had rolled. Authorities said the driver of the ATV was thrown from the vehicle.
