Arkansas Storm Team Forecast: More rain on the way

The “cool” front that caused Saturday’s storms across much of the Natural State is still hanging around. It’s stalled in southern Arkansas on Sunday afternoon, bringing more showers and storms with the potential for flooding and a damaging wind gust or two. This risk will continue into Sunday night in southern Arkansas.

Monday, July 13, an isolated shower or storm is possible with mostly sunny skies. Highs will reach the low 90s, and heat index values will reach the mid to upper 90s.

Tuesday, July 14, begins dry, but an approaching upper-level disturbance brings scattered showers and storms to the region. Tuesday through Wednesday, this upper-level area of low pressure will bring rain to Arkansas.

Rain chances become slimmer late in the week, and heat returns.

Triple-digit heat index values are likely to return by Thursday for many Arkansans. Heat advisories may again be needed late this week and into the upcoming weekend.
