Happy Monday! We’re starting the week on a quiet note with temperatures early in the upper 60s this morning. Clear skies and a light northeast breeze will keep the day feeling nice and temperatures mild in the upper 80s.
Tonight will be comfortable again in the low 70s and upper 60s. Tuesday will begin quietly, too, before warming to the upper 80s again under mainly sunny skies.
High pressure over the Upper Midwest will largely keep this week quiet, but there is a chance for a weak disturbance to slip around the south end of the ridge on Wednesday. This would bring a chance for scattered rain and thunderstorms throughout the afternoon on Wednesday for Southern Missouri and Northern Arkansas. Rain is expected to fade away in the evening.
Thursday will be warm in the upper 80s, and there’s a low chance of isolated rain showers in the afternoon as the leftover weak disturbance dissipates over the area.
The ridge of high pressure over the Upper Midwest makes a slight move south as we end the work week and we’ll find temperatures turn hotter in the Ozarks by Friday. Highs will climb into the low 90s for many on Friday. The heat will build over the weekend with highs in the mid-90s on Saturday and Sunday.
Some model guidance suggests the high pressure breaks down early next week. This would increase rain chances in the Ozarks as well as turn temperatures down…
