JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. — A southern Indiana man will have a murder trial, after a judge denied a plea agreement on a less-serious charge Monday.
Judge Nicholas Karaffa denied a plea agreement that was reached in Derek Pixley’s murder case. Pixley is accused of murdering his girlfriend Brittney Boman in the woods off of Brownstown Road in late 2022.
The plea agreement, which had been agreed to by Clark County Deputy Prosecutor Brennen Goodin as well as Pixley’s attorney Sunnye Bush-Sawtelle, would have amended the murder charge to reckless homicide and sent to Pixley to prison for six years.
