Blue Dot Barbecue opened in 1946 in Pensacola’s historic Belmont-Devillers district, founded by ‘Blue’ Robinson and Dorothy. There’s one sign on the blue brick building at 310 North De Villiers Street. Inside, you take a stool at the counter or a seat at a wood table. Cash only.
The menu is nearly singular: a hamburger and a rib sandwich. But rather than that being a limitation, it’s a statement of purpose. The kitchen has been making these two things for 80 years, and they’ve gotten very good at it.
