A lawsuit filed by Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier against OpenAI is now before the U.S. District Court in Fort Pierce, where U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon will oversee proceedings after the company removed the case from state court.
The state filed the lawsuit in the Circuit Court for Highlands County, alleging violations of the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act and Florida common law.
