(FOX40.COM) — Firefighters successfully contained a fire threatening a North Highlands home Monday, officials stated in a media release.
Early Monday morning, the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District responded to a report of a residential structure fire at 6630 34th Street in North Highlands, south of Antelope, fire officials said.
Firefighters arrived to find “heavy black smoke,” which appeared to be coming from the home’s garage, fire officials stated.
The fire district used hose lines to battle flames and searched the residence to ensure all occupants escaped, fire officials said. Crews successfully contained the fire to the home’s “garage and attic space,” and all family members, including an elderly woman who was leaving the structure as crews arrived, escaped without injury…
