Sacramento’s AI-assisted parking enforcement program expands, issuing $150 citations

(FOX40.COM) — The City of Sacramento begins issuing citations for cars illegally blocking bike lanes with the use of its artificial intelligence-assisted parking enforcement program.

The city first launched bus-mounted AI-powered cameras to detect vehicles illegally parked at bus stops in February 2025. In April 2025, the city launched SacRT bus-mounted technology for automated bike lane enforcement, making it the first in the nation.
