CANYON, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – The Canyon Independent School District Board is set to host a regular meeting at 6 p.m. on Monday in the Canyon ISD District Support Center, in which officials are set to discuss items including cost reduction strategies for the district, employee pay increases, and student meal prices for the upcoming school year.
The published agenda for the meeting noted officials will conduct a board workshop and/or closed session until 7 p.m., after which time they will return to the meeting room.

During the meeting, Canyon ISD Superintendent Dr. Darryl Flusche is set to present on preparations for the 2026-2027 school year, which will begin on Aug. 19, as well as to discuss cost reduction strategies.
Canyon ISD Chief Financial Officer Lela Vela will also present to the board to discuss employee compensation increases for the 2026-2027 school year, alongside considering approving student meal prices for the 2026-2027 school year…
