AGFC requiring hikers to buy permit when in Wilderness Management Areas

JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) – The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission released July 1 a new permit for hikers on Wildlife Management Areas. The commission requires hikers who do not have a hunting or fishing license to purchase a $10.50 permit.

The commission said that the permit will only be needed when hiking on commission-owned lands. Hikers on land owned by both the state of Arkansas and the commission will not need a permit.
