CLEVELAND (WJW) – An extremely rare baby animal was just recently born at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo.
According to zoo officials, an Amur leopard cub was born to mom, 5-year-old Marta, and dad, four-year-old Sylas, just after midnight on July 1.
The cub was the first Amur leopard born at the zoo during its 144 years in operation. The baby is also the first of its species born at an Ohio zoo.
Zoo officials said the new arrival has been staying close to mom and is being monitored by a care team, but the cub will not be seen by the public for several weeks…
