Next-generation SmartRobotics system advances JMC’s leadership in orthopedic innovation

July 13, 2026 – Jupiter Medical Center (JMC) is proud to announce that it is the first hospital in the world to offer robotic shoulder replacement using the Mako 4.0 SmartRobotics™ system. The milestone builds on JMC’s introduction of robotic shoulder replacement in the fall of 2025 and further positions the independent, not-for-profit hospital as a global leader in orthopedic robotic-arm assisted surgery.

Mako 4.0 is the latest update to the Mako system and includes all the same benefits available with the current platform, including AccuStop™ technology, and CT-based intraoperative planning and guidance. The updated system includes improved visualization and tracking, along with several advanced features, such as virtual screw-depth measurement.
