LVMPD, 7-Eleven team up to reward good deeds with free Slurpees

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is teaming up with 7-Eleven to launch “Operation Chill” this week.

According to a release, the department will kick off the program at LVMPD’s Headquarters on Thursday, July 16 at 11 a.m.

7-Eleven is providing the department with 26,000 free Slurpee coupons. Officers participating in the program will “ticket” young people caught performing good deeds, such as picking up litter, wearing a bike helmet, or helping a neighbor. Each coupon can be redeemed for a small Slurpee at participating 7-Eleven locations…
