The teenager charged with shooting five people in the Iowa City pedestrian mall will be tried in adult court. Damarian Jones tried to have his case moved to juvenile court. But a judge ruled there was no good cause for moving the case out of adult court. Jones was 17 when police say he picked up a gun during a large fight and fired it six times. He’s since turned 18. He’s charged with five counts of attempted murder.

A Lone Tree man is accused of killing his father. The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office says 76-year-old Richard Powers was found dead in a home on West Elm Street Monday night. His son, 52-year-old Scott Powers, is charged with his murder. According to a criminal complaint, Scott Powers showed up to a home covered in blood and said, “I killed Dad.”…
