Big Brothers Big Sisters of northeast Wisconsin seeks mentors for local youth

(WFRV) — Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Wisconsin is currently in need of “bigs”, whether they are brothers or sisters, to help out.

Big Brothers Big Sisters is a “one-to-one youth mentoring organization in northeast Wisconsin,” according to Emily Burgess, the organization’s Director of Philanthropy. They serve Brown, Door, and Shawano counties.

Burgess joined Local 5’s Off the Desk to talk about the benefits of the program. The two were also joined by the “match of the year,” Haley Vickman and Amiyah.

“Last year alone, we served 641 kids with a mentor. We have such an amazing impact that we make on these littles in the community. We match youth littles in the community with adult volunteers we call bigs,” Burgess explained…
