BELLEVUE, Neb. (WOWT) — The Omaha Public Power District is asking residents for input on where to place upgraded power lines and substations as part of its Bellevue Reliability Project.
An open house is underway Tuesday at Bellevue East High School, running through 7 p.m. Residents unable to attend can submit questions and feedback online.
What OPPD is planning
The utility is looking to upgrade transmission lines and substations throughout the city. Officials said OPPD is not currently struggling to meet Bellevue’s power demand, but the project is intended to ensure reliability into the future.
“We go drive around, we look and we see trees, but there’s things underground. There’s things that we just can’t see or are unaware of. We’re seeking that feedback that would push us one way or another,” said Jake Farrell of OPPD.
