SC joins 48-state settlement with Glenmark over generic drug price-fixing conspiracy

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WCSC) — South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson has joined a coalition of 48 states and territories in a $29.6 million settlement with generic drug manufacturer Glenmark over allegations the company conspired to artificially inflate prices, reduce competition, and restrain trade on numerous generic prescription drugs.

South Carolina’s share of the settlement is $118,890.

The Glenmark settlement follows previous settlements with Lannett, Bausch, Apotex, and Heritage totaling $66.95 million, bringing the combined total to more than $96 million. The states are preparing for the first trial in the broader litigation, anticipated to be held in Hartford, Connecticut in late 2026…
