Kalamazoo County scales back tree removal project: 4,000 trees estimated to be cleared

KALAMAZOO COUNTY, Mich. — A plan to remove thousands of trees along Kalamazoo County roads has been cut down in size.

Instead of removing some 8,000 trees as part of a federally funded road safety initiative, only 4,000 are now projected to be cleared, according to Kalamazoo County Road Commission Public Relations Director Mark Worden.
