Memphis woman escapes stranger impersonating Lyft driver

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Memphis woman believes someone was watching over her when she got into a truck with a man she thought was her Lyft driver outside Baptist Memorial Hospital in East Memphis last week.

“I do believe in a higher power,” said the 27-year-old.

Lotus Lee said she had been at the ER for hours waiting to be treated for abdominal pain and, at around 5:30 a.m. on July 10, ordered a Lyft.
