NEWARK — A 25-year-old man has been arrested and charged with robbing and punching a nun and raping and robbing another woman in two separate incidents on the same day last weekend in New Jersey’s biggest city.
Newark nun robbed and assaulted during morning attack
Police responded 7:30 a.m., Saturday, July 11, to Orange Street near South 11th Street in for a reported robbery.
The nun told police that she fell to the ground after being punched by a man on the street.
The suspect stole her purse and took off. The nun was taken to University Hospital.
