Alabama’s longest serving tourism director retires, new director appointed

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Governor Kay Ivey announced Wednesday that she has appointed Alabama’s next Tourism Director after the state’s longest-serving director of the department has retired.

Lee Sentell has been Alabama’s Tourism Director since 2003 when he was appointed by Governor Bob Riley. In a release, Gov. Ivey said that since Riley began serving at the Department of Tourism, Alabama’s tourism revenue has grown from $6 billion to $25 billion.
