Told to slow down, Oildale man returned and opened fire on 4th of July revelers: report

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Early on July 5, as Independence Day celebrations continued, an SUV sped through an Oildale neighborhood. The driver took off when residents told him to slow down.

Ten minutes later — after dropping off two passengers — he returned and opened fire from the vehicle, wounding four people including a 7-year-old, according to a probable cause declaration that became available Thursday.

The accused gunman, Tyler Boyer, 34, has pleaded not guilty to firing at a person from a vehicle, plus multiple special allegations that carry punishment of 25 years to life in prison…
