COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — Nearly six years after the death of Casey Goodson Jr., a former Franklin County sheriff’s deputy could face a third trial on a murder charge.
Jason Meade’s defense is asking a judge to dismiss the murder charge tied to Goodson’s death, arguing that a third trial would be unfair. Meade was convicted in May of reckless homicide, but the jury could not reach a unanimous decision on the murder charge.
Meade did not appear in court Thursday as previously anticipated. His legal team met with Judge Lynch to discuss ‘procedural matters’, and no updates could be shared with media…
